Information we handle

We may use publicly announced event details and professional contact information published for business or event inquiries.

If you reply to us or use a Daily Pick form, we may receive information you choose to provide, such as your name, organization, email address, event corrections, public social accounts, submitted media, credits, and confirmations about authority or media rights.

The public website uses Alberta Music Live’s aggregate measurement to understand how the site is used. This first-party measurement does not create visitor profiles or retain raw searches, precise locations, or visitor identifiers.

How we use information

We use information to research and prepare Daily Pick features, verify event details, communicate with relevant professional contacts, respond to corrections and email choices, review authorized media, prepare social content, and protect the service from misuse.

We do not sell personal information. Information submitted through Daily Pick is not used to build unrelated advertising profiles.

Optional promotion measurement

If you choose Allow measurement, the website loads optional social-media promotion measurement to help us understand which Alberta Music Live posts lead people to the site. The social platform may receive information about the page visit and use browser or account identifiers according to its own privacy practices.

The pixel stays off until you allow it, and the site works fully without it. Your choice is stored on your device so we can remember it for later visits. A browser Global Privacy Control signal also keeps this optional measurement off.

Automated tools and human involvement

Automated tools, including AI-assisted tools, may help organize messages, identify requests, check information, or prepare drafts. Human involvement in review, judgment and accountability remains fundamental to Alberta Music Live’s operations.

We limit the information provided to these tools to what is reasonably needed for the task. Alberta Music Live remains responsible for final editorial decisions and outgoing communications.

Service providers

We may use service providers for website hosting, email, secure storage, automated assistance, design, social-media publishing, and optional promotion measurement. They receive only the information reasonably needed to provide their service.

Some providers may process information outside Canada. Our current service-provider privacy practices, including the countries involved and the purposes for processing, are available on request from our Privacy Contact.

Retention and security

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, to respect your choices, or to meet legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information.

Submitted media is kept private while it is reviewed. We may retain the minimum information needed to continue respecting an unsubscribe or do-not-contact request.

Your choices

You may ask to access or correct personal information about you, correct event details, ask us not to include an event in Daily Pick, stop future Daily Pick emails, or ask questions about how we handle information. Some requests may be subject to applicable law.
